New Orleans, LA
Two days off in New Orleans! We got to the hotel here last night at about 12:30 after a 5:00 show in LaFayette. On the bus on the way here Marnell gathered us all in the front lounge and handed all of us an envelope. We opened them up to find $150 cash! He said he and Robin wanted to thank us all for all our hard work and job well done and "have fun in New Orleans!" It was very unexpected and very nice of them!
Last night Jeff filmed some more e-card greetings during the show. This time they were with Bubba J for St. Patrick's day, so watch his website for those in the next few days!
A few days ago we were in Southhaven Mississippi and it was pretty nice becauase we had a lot of the same stagehands as we did in Tupelo. That makes things go a little bit smoother because most of them know what's going on. I guess that will be happening again in couple of days when we get the same crew in Texas as we had last night.
The night before last night was an interesting one. We were in Biloxi. The floor was all wet because there was ice underneath and one of the house guys said he thinks the engineers didn't keep it cool enough in there over night so it got soaked in condensation. It was annoying building the screen, because we're always kneeling and scooting around the floor to build it. They had people with mops and fans, but it didn't really go away until right before the show started.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do exactly here in New Orleans. Our hotel is right next to the river. The Riverwalk Marketplace (I think that's what it's called) is right across the street, so I may head over there pretty soon and look for some food or something. I'll write again in a couple days to let you know how it went!
